Hi, I’m Lisa – president and founder of TGW Studio – one of the 1% of marketing agencies owned by a woman (and part of the even tinier percentage owned by queer women).
I’m going to be vulnerable for a moment: 2025 has been weird and hard.
It’s felt weird and hard for me as a queer person (and parent) living in the U.S. – and as the founder of one of the *less than 1%* of women- & queer-owned marketing agencies. Things are often uphill.
But I’m here for the challenge.

When TGW Studio was born in 2012, I hoped to build a place that operated differently.
When you’re different, you think different, and as far as I’m concerned that’s a damn strength. To run a business as a force for good, by utilizing our talents and expertise to make, you guessed it, a difference.
To us, this was two-fold: aligning solely with like-minded partners externally, while simultaneously molding an internal culture that challenged much of the industry status quo (and working, in general).
To be a safe space for a team to come as you are. To have strong leadership that looks at intention and care as foundational. To trust each other first.
And, while most firms today identify as purpose-driven in one way or another, back then, this was considered edgy (go figure). So, simply put, that’s our “why.”
"When you're different, you think different, and as far as I'm concerned that's a damn strength."
Some deliberate differences were set early on and crystallized even more clearly over time:
- Build and uplift a proudly diverse team (We’re MWBE– and NGLCC-certified)
- Trust employees first.
- Focus down. Shorten meetings. Go hard and rest. We’ve operated on a 4-day work week for 4 years and counting.
- As a neuroinclusive workplace, we promote flexibility, autonomy, and attune to others’ needs. When we thrive individually, we thrive collectively.
- Be a dedicated boutique in quality, expertise, and attention given.
- Give a damn about social impact and social justice (We’re a certified B Corp, too!)
- Treat relationships as everything (because they are). We love and respect our partners deeply, and we receive equal trust and respect.
Our identity and mission remains intertwined – regardless of the season or quarter. If this resonates, and there’s room at your table, we’d love to chat.
